Brittany itinerary: 7 days from Saint-Malo to the Pink Granite Coast

A week combining Saint-Malo, the Emerald Coast and the Pink Granite Coast, with only 3 bases so you spend more time exploring and less time driving.

Côte sauvage et falaises bretonnes au Cap Fréhel
A week structured around three bases, combining coast, heritage and breathing space.

Four guiding ideas

Why 3 bases instead of a rushed road trip?

Fewer hotel changes make the days more coherent, leave more time on site and give you real flexibility to adapt the pace of the trip.

01

Three bases, two changes

Fewer check-outs, fewer bags to repack, more breathing space.

02

Fewer kilometres

Visits are grouped by geographic logic.

03

A clear pace

The plan alternates fuller days with slower ones.

04

An adaptable framework

Duration, children, budget and interests can all change the route.

Suggested route

7 days, 3 bases

Saint-Malo (2 nights) → Dinan & the Rance valley → Cap Fréhel / Pléneuf-Val-André (2 nights) → Ploumanac’h / Perros-Guirec (2 nights) → return via Rennes.

The itinerary

One week, day by day

An inspirational framework, deliberately flexible — each day can be adapted to your pace.

1Saint-Malo base

Saint-Malo Intra-Muros & Cancale

First base. City walls in the morning, beach in the afternoon and Cancale’s oyster market at the end of the day.

2Saint-Malo base

Dinan & the Rance valley

Medieval streets of Dinan in the morning, Dinan harbour, then a walk along the Rance in the afternoon.

3Pléneuf base

Cap Fréhel → Pléneuf-Val-André

Move to the second base. Cliffs and heathland at Cap Fréhel, a suitable coastal walk, then settle in at Pléneuf-Val-André.

4Pléneuf base

Pléneuf, Dahouët & beach

A deliberately slower day. Dahouët harbour in the morning, then beach time or a coastal walk in the afternoon.

5Perros-Guirec base

Pléneuf → Perros-Guirec

Move to the final base. One useful stop on the way, settle in at Perros, then enjoy the seafront.

6Perros-Guirec base

Ploumanac’h, GR34 & pink granite

Signature day. Follow the GR34 from Ploumanac’h harbour through granite formations and scenic viewpoints.

7Retour

Perros → Rennes & end of trip

Return day with no extra overnight stay. Explore Rennes’ historic centre and end the road trip at an easy pace.
